What they do well — and where it stops
Wispr Flow is a fast English-first product
Wispr Flow has one of the lowest-latency English transcription pipelines in the category and a complete mobile suite (iOS + Android).
But the killer Flow Styles feature is English-only, the legal entity is in Delaware under the US CLOUD Act, and there's no public AVV — for any German lawyer, doctor or consultant under § 203 StGB that's a hard blocker.

Pricing for B2B buyers — netto, like-for-like
Wispr Flow invoices from Delaware (US Inc.) under the EU reverse-charge mechanism for B2B — no VAT on the invoice; the headline price is your effective net cost. Sprecho invoices come from Melo Designer GmbH with a German VAT-ID; the 19 % VAT is recoverable as Vorsteuer. Net-for-net comparison below.

Hidden costs
- DPA exists in Trust Center but is gated behind authentication — Sprecho's AVV is publicly downloadable without a sales contact
- Foreign-supplier paperwork — your accounting team has to book the reverse-charge VAT in the monthly UStVA return; a German GmbH invoice has the VAT line item already
- Engineering and support team in US Pacific timezone — ticket response windows shift 9 hours from CET
- March 2026 Delve SOC 2 / ISO 27001 audit-vendor scandal — re-audit by A-LIGN pending

What each side built that the other didn't
Honest, concrete, audit-grade. Self-correction handling and disfluency removal exist on both sides — they're not listed here because both are real features for both products. The list below is the actual delta.
What Wispr Flow built that Sprecho didn't
- Production-shipping iOS and Android mobile apps in the App Store and Play Store today — Sprecho's mobile is in active development but not yet in store.
- Sub-150 ms English time-to-first-word as their headline latency benchmark — Wispr Flow markets latency more aggressively than Sprecho does.
- Explicit Swiss-German orthography variant (ß→ss) documented in their multilingual settings.
What Sprecho built that Wispr Flow didn't
- Caps Lock UPPERCASE mode — hold Caps Lock while dictating and the output is fully capitalised. Useful for headers, all-caps emails, legal-document section markers.
- Multi-style output that works in German (and 100+ languages) — Flow Styles is English-only per Wispr Flow's own docs; Sprecho's formal / casual / very-casual / excited tones work in every language we support.
- Native Linux desktop installer (Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora) alongside Windows and macOS — Wispr Flow has no Linux build.
- Explicit German command-mode grammar trained on 400 examples: punctuation ("Komma", "Punkt"), structure ("neue Zeile", "neuer Absatz"), deletion ("letzten Satz löschen", "letztes Wort löschen", "streich das", "lösche das"), and capitalisation ("großschreiben").
Honest feature comparison
Where Wispr Flow has the feature, we show the green check. Where the feature is technically present but English-only or behind enterprise gates, partial. Verbatim source quotes on every row.

“We tested Wispr Flow for three months before switching to Sprecho. The reason wasn't accuracy — the reason was § 203 StGB.”
